WHAT CAUSES ADHD?
While there is no concrete cause for ADHD, there is evidence that suggests that it is genetic. At least one-third of parents had ADHD will have children with the condition.
WHAT’S THE PROCESS OF GETTING DIAGNOSED LIKE?
At the Institute of Mental Health, adults will go through an initial screening, questionnaire, and have their psychiatric history noted. Alongside the interview, the diagnosing clinician will survey the patient’s surrounding environment (school records, family accounts of childhood, etc.) to get the full picture in order to accurately diagnose the condition.
