Should I Medicate or Not Medicate my ADHD child?

May 17 @ 7:34 am UTC+8

Medication has been recommended as a first line treatment for children who have been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). However, many parents have reservations about introducing medication as part of ADHD management for their child, citing concerns about side effects, preference for non-medication intervention and fears about over reliance on pharmaceutical means to manage ADHD symptoms.

To celebrate the official launch of Unlocking ADHD and in conjunction with ADHD Awareness Month in October, we are delighted to introduce Dr Dan Shapiro, renowned American Board Certified Developmental-Behavioural Pediatrician, Dr Dan Shapiro of Parent Child Journey, as our Opening Speaker. Dr Dan will be sharing evidence based information about medication and also his experience as a clinician in this area.

Join us online for this free webinar and find practical solutions to your questions on managing daily life with an ADHD child. Dr Dan has over 20 years experience in managing children with special needs / special education needs including ADHD, Autism and Anxiety, among other disorders. He is the author of numerous articles and three books: Parent Child Journey: An Individualized Approach to Raising Your Challenging Child, Parent Child Excursions: ADHD, Anxiety and Autism and Raph’s Tale, a children’s book on developmental difference. I am a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. I am married with 4 children and 2 grandchildren- all wonderfully different.
