Bernadette Loh, a trainee lawyer & a volunteer under Unlocking ADHD, shares of her decision to pursue a career in law. She was deeply influenced by her encounter with the legal system at the age of 13: her experience at the State Courts made her reflect on the countless other children going through similar situations, and she felt a sense of empathy for younger children who might feel lost in the process.
Upon securing her first training contract post-grad, she felt a need to prove herself. Over time, she underwent a personal transformation, realising that her diagnoses of depression and ADHD were not hindrances, but rather, could also be sources of strength.
Bernadette’s journey highlights the significance of personal growth and self-acceptance. Her experience with mental health challenges has allowed her to harness her strengths and approach her work with greater understanding and empathy. Read her story here.
